Gilmer Arts Exhibition
Our Gallery Exhibitions highlight the unique talents of local and regional artists while also bringing artists from other regions together in a variety of experiences. The third week of May brings many artists to Gilmer for three days of outdoor painting during our Plein Air event.
This event allows artists to paint in local vineyards, farms, and orchards, as well as Historic Downtown Ellijay for three days, culminating with an auction and reception for the artists.
During winter months our gallery has a warm, cozy feel as we exhibit Fiber Arts. This exhibit is followed by the Art Teacher Art Exhibit and then during Youth Month a sampling of art from students in Gilmer County. These students are homeschooled, students in Gilmer County Schools or Private Schools.
In the Spring we host The Spring Juried Art Exhibit. This exhibit is a favorite showing a variety of mediums and styles in a competition for prizes. August brings our Member Artist Exhibition, where our member artists are invited to display their work in the main gallery to coincide with the annual Membership Appreciation Reception.
In October we host The Annual Juried Photography Exhibit. This is a wonderful exhibit that is in many ways a travelogue from around the world featuring our photographers’ trips. Each year we host at least one extraordinary artist in our B.E.S.T. Visual Art Series.
These artists have excelled in their artistic careers with exemplary skills and talents. Other months we profile and promote local and regional solo artist exhibits ending the year in December with a Small Works Exhibit of perfect Holiday gifts. See our calendar for a complete schedule of events and dates for exhibits and receptions.
