Gallery Exhibitions put the focus on the unique talents of regional artists. The year begins with an Annual Juried Art Exhibition, displaying the submissions of up to 35 artists and artisans.

April the first of the Bringing Ellijay Sensational Talent (B.E.S.T.) Visual Art Series Exhibition is on display. Noted artist from all over the country are invited to show their artwork in our main gallery.

August brings us our Member Artist Exhibition, where our artists are invited to display their work in the main gallery to coincide with the annual Membership Appreciation Reception.

The year closes with the second installment of the B.E.S.T. Visual Art Series in November. See the calendar for a complete list of events and dates.

Plein Air, Art in the Mountains held in June.  3-day outdoor painting event.

Artist Agreement

Artists who are members of Gilmer Arts and wish to show their work in the Gift Shop or Gallery should fill out our Artist Agreement and submit it to the office.

Plein Air, Art in the Mountains

In Spring/Summer Gilmer Arts hosts the Annual Plein Air, Art in the Mountains 3-day outdoor painting event. Culminating in a reception and art auction featuring the paintings created by the attending artists.

During this 3 day event, artists will be painting “en plein air” in and around the beautiful vistas of the North Georgia mountains.  Painting will begin on Friday and continue each of the next 2 days.

On Saturday, a Quick Draw Challenge will be held at one a selected location.  A cash prize will be awarded to the winner.

On the final day of the event, artists will enter some of the artwork created over the 3 days in an auction held the George Link, Jr. Gilmer Arts Playhouse.
