Spa-Dee-Dah is the fictional day spa set inside a converted abandoned church in Eden Falls, Georgia, which serves as the primary setting for the popular comedic play The Hallelujah Girls by Jones, Hope, and Wooten

The Catalyst: After a dear friend passes away, a feisty group of middle-aged Southern women realize that time is short. They vow to change their lives and chase their dreams. The Venture: Firecracker leader Sugar Lee Thompkins buys an old abandoned church and transforms it into the Spa-Dee-Dah, where she and her tight-knit group of girlfriends meet every Friday afternoon. The Conflict: Chaos ensues as the women grapple with personal baggage—from stagnant marriages and multiple past husbands to rebellious kids. Tension peaks when Sugar Lee’s former high school sweetheart reappears and her bitter archrival plots to steal the spa building away from her.

The tight-knit group of five Southern women at the heart of the spa includes:

• Sugar Lee Thompkins: The high-spirited, determined leader who bought the church to create Spa-Dee-Dah.

• Carlene Travis: A woman who has completely given up on romance after outliving three husbands.

• Nita Mooney: A nervous wreck always stuck dealing with her problematic son and his probation officer.

• Mavis Flowers: A woman stuck in a marriage so terribly stagnant she openly contemplates faking her own death to escape it.

• Crystal Hart: A sweet, eccentric soul who keeps everyone entertained by singing custom, hilarious lyrics to Christmas carols.

• The Plot: The fierce females attempt to franchise Spa-Dee-Dah across Georgia.

• The New Threat: Ruthless rival Glorietta DeWitt (owner of DeWitt’s Delights) tries to steal Crystal’s secret chocolate-cookie recipe, which is the backbone of the spa’s success.

• More Chaos: The action unfolds during the chaotic Eden Falls Azalea Festival, featuring a new stranger with a big secret named Hardy Womble.
