Call for Submissions: Gilmer Arts Inaugural Short Story Anthology

An Opportunity for North Georgia Writers to Be Published

The Gilmer Arts Writers Group invites submissions of original short stories for inclusion in our first anthology. This is your chance to see your name in print and contribute to a growing literary tradition in North Georgia.

✍️ Submission Guidelines

Theme: Open (Any genre welcome—fiction only. No adult/explicit material.)

Word Count: Maximum 2,500 words

Eligibility: Open to writers residing in North Georgia or with strong ties to the region

Deadline: October 1, 2025

📄 Submission Format

Manuscripts must be in Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF format

12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, 1″ margins

Include page numbers

Do NOT include your name on the manuscript itself (blind review process)

🏆 Selection Process & Rights

A panel of published authors and editors will review submissions.

The top 20 stories will be selected for publication.

Authors will retain copyright but grant Gilmer Arts exclusive publication rights for six months.

Proceeds from anthology sales will support the Gilmer Arts Council and its creative programs.
