Acrylics Painting: Reflective Light 6/12 or 19
June 19 @ 1:00 pm
$81.00 – $90.00
Instructor: Becca Shuler
Where: Gilmer Arts Classroom
Two dates: Friday, June 12 or 19, 1-4pm
In Becca’s classes you get a choice for inspiration images to reference as you work. Or you can bring your own reference photo. Since the classes are kept small, you’ll receive one-on-one attention in class. There are two dates on the June calendar to explore painting reflective light. You may take one or both classes. It’s your choice. In this class, the focus will be more on mixing custom color. Painting reflective light in the landscape is sometimes called atmospheric painting. Lesson plan to include:
• Class demo for basic process steps.
• How to prepare the surface before starting.
• Glazing liquid practice for painting ambient light into the scene.
• How to soften edges with brush strokes.
• Help with custom mixing colors for your palette.
Students will complete a painting during this three-hour class. Project size: 11×14.
Acrylic Painting Sessions with Becca are for Beginners to Advanced students who want to expand their ability. Acrylic paints are recommended; lesson plan revolves around how to best use acrylics to achieve reflective light resulting in an atmospheric painting style. $90 holds your seat; space is limited to six. Call or text Becca with questions, 706-889-1857. If you need supplies, let Becca know after you register with payment, so she can put together a kit or make suggestions. Supply list offered by request. If you require a kit, a fee to cover materials will be collected on day of class: $50.
