- Details: The most important part of creating a pleasing piece of artwork is the use of color. Complimentary, Contrasting or Analogous? Who wants to come learn? Each month Becca selects something new to explore in acrylic paints. In Becca’s classes you get a choice for inspiration images to reference as you work. Or you can bring your own reference photo. Since the classes are kept small, you’ll receive one-on-one attention in class. All levels welcome; Beginners or Advanced, ages 11 and up. Painting kits are offered to beginners for a small fee at beginning of class ($55), or you may bring your own supplies (request a list of supplies to bring, 706-889-1857). Lesson plan to include:
• Class demo for basic process steps.
• How to prepare the surface before starting.
• Glazing liquid practice for painting ambient light into the scene.
• How to soften edges with brush strokes.
• Help with custom mixing colors for your palette. Students will complete a painting during this three-hour class. Recommended Project
size: 11×14. Acrylic Painting Sessions with Becca are for Beginners to Advanced students who want to expand their ability. Acrylic paints are recommended; lesson plan revolves around how to best use acrylics to achieve reflective light resulting in an atmospheric painting style. Color Theory is discussed during custom color mixing exercises. We use a limited palette and mix all our colors from three primary colors plus white. NOTE: If you wish to paint a specific subject—animals, landscapes, flowers, trees, etc., please notify Becca in advance so she can bring appropriate inspiration images for you to work from. Come to both dates and/or one; it’s your choice. (Art Members save 10%.)
