Acrylics Class: Palette Knife Training 2 | Birch Trees
17 January 2025Painting with Knives Out!
Palette Knife Training 2 (Birch Trees)
Beginners & Advanced
Instructor: Becca Shuler
Class: January 17th 2025
Painting with our knives (2) out is good training for all of us who want to produce a painting in less time. We begin with a toned panel or canvas and then we lay in the foundation stones for creating a pleasing art piece. Birch trees are our subjects. This one has a luring path drawing us into the birch forest. The golden light glowing through the golden foliage overhead is balanced by a pale blue sky. We have ongoing sessions for building your painting skills as we go. We meet at least twice a month, but we could add more if there is interest in weekly lessons. Bring your own supplies and pay a basic class fee: $70 for a lesson plan and guidance. We focus on something new to build our skill set as we work through the calendar year painting together.

“What fun Becca’s events are to attend! They have inspired me and got my creative juices flowing. Thank you and keep up the good work.”
—Susan Jane King of SueBee Arts on Facebook
“Well, after taking some of Becca’s barn quilt classes and some beginner painting classes painting barns, I can say for sure that Becca 100% deserves the status of Super Host on Facebook. She has always been accommodating to those who want to be in her class, she has posted clear instructions, and always does it with a very kind heart. I am grateful I found her.”
—Laura Ellard
“I have learned so much from Becca. I am so happy I was introduced to her classes through the Gilmer Arts Center. She always comes prepared with a lesson plan and notes that I can use to reinforce concepts and skills while painting on my own. She is a capable teacher, and I appreciate how she has accommodated my temporary need for a private teacher while my husband recovers from a recent health situation. Art is so therapeutic.”
