Acrylics 101: Sunsets & Sunshine

Details: Introduction to mixing custom colors of the sunset. Blending practice for creating subtle color changes in the sky. Each month Becca selects something new to explore in acrylic paints. All levels are welcome, from Beginners to Advanced.

Class fee is $90 (non-members), $81 (members). Sign up for both classes to extend your learning or attend one date of your choice.

Painting kits are offered to beginners for a small fee at beginning of class ($50) or you may bring your own supplies (request a list of supplies to bring—Becca: 706-889-1857). Becca provides images from which to paint.

This introductory class will include several lessons:

1) how to set up your palette for success in acrylic paints,

2) how to tone your panel to enhance your work,

3) how to sketch a scene for a pleasing compositional placement,

4) how to paint in layers using different mediums for acrylics– blocking in color values with thin coats, adding to each element, creating texture and highlights to finish.

If you wish to continue learning acrylics painting, additional sessions continue monthly.
