Acrylics 101: Building Bridges
December 11 @ 1:00 pm
$81.00 – $90.00
- Instructor: Becca Shuler
- Beginners – Advanced
- When: Friday, Nov. 20, 1-4pm /
Second Chance: Friday, Dec. 11, 1-4pm - Where: Gilmer Arts Gallery
Each month Becca selects something new to explore in acrylic paints. All levels are welcome.
During these two sessions we explore the steps to create a painting with architectural elements. How to
create shadow and depth and keep the composition simple. Learn how to use acrylics and make them
behave like oils. (Becca brings a stash of inspiration photos for you to select from—the image here is one
of many available choices.)
We paint on canvas using heavy body acrylics (pro grade) and gel medium along with glazing liquid for
acrylics. We custom mix our colors from a limited color palette to create unique works of art.
Class fee is $90 (non-members), $81 (members)– bring your own supplies—see list below.
Painting kits are offered to beginners for a small fee at beginning of class ($60);
Starter kit includes paint set, brushes, color wheel, sketchbook, canvas (11×14).
Please bring your typical painting tools along with supplies: paints, brushes, palette, water cup, canvas, (no
larger than 16×20) & paper towels.
Sign up for both classes to extend your learning or attend one date of your choice. Future lessons to
continue each month.
