Vicki Simpson Artist Statement:

Creating art has always been an essential part of my life and coming from a
family of creatives, it’s in my DNA! On the verge of turning 60 and after
years of creating with fabric, I began to paint with oil paints and a palette
knife and discovered a new passion. The process intrigues me – taking
inspiration from an emotional connection and transferring it to the subject,
capturing color and light while developing it into an artistic expression. I
experience immense joy as the painting evolves, a feeling that is magnified
when the viewer experiences a similar joy and energy.
