Need a special painting for that new home? Want a painting done here in the beautiful North Georgia Mountains? This is the eighth year Gilmer Arts has hosted Plein Air, Art in the Mountains here in Gilmer County. Each year we close out the weekend of visiting artists painting at hosted sites around the county with a Reception and Auction. Covid forced us to take this online and outdoors the past two years, but this year The Fun is Back. The 2022 Plein Air Auction will be hosted at the George Link, Jr Gilmer Arts Playhouse in Downtown Ellijay on Sunday, May 22nd 2-4pm. The host wineries will be pouring wine in the lobby. There will be nibbles in the lobby. The Smokehouse Grill will offer lunch from their food truck which will be parked behind the Playhouse 11:30-4. Bobby McNeil will be the auctioneer. Quick Draw Awards will be given from the stage prior to the Auction. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday there will be a dry-work, previously-done-works from these artists viewable at a Silent Auction in the Playhouse 11-5. Artists will bring works in on Sunday following the morning Quick Draw Competition. Join us for an afternoon of fun and art. RSVP to preregister for the Auction.
