Tuesdays with Ellie: EmPowerFlow Yoga For Aging with Grace

 “Each birthday is not about how old you are, it’s about aging gracefully!”  

     Addressing the issues of aging can be overwhelming.  Issues of stiffness, pain, old and new injuries can leave you feeling old and powerless. You may think of yoga as just pretzel like poses and extreme stretches.  And this is true for those who have been practicing a long time.

    But there is really much more. For those of us in our 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and yes 80’s….we just want to feel good to go where we want to go.   Learning to move your body to the maximum ability you have right now is the essence of yoga.  In class I help you maximize this ability with  individual attention, slow steady steps to help you breathe better and move easier.  You can take steps to alleviate both mental stress and physical limitations.  

    Each class is designed to reach you where you are.  First and foremost is to get your circulation going and move energy throughout your body - you have to get moving to keep your body engine running.  Just as you ’tune up’ your vehicle, your body is your vehicle for life and must get regular ’tune ups.’   

    If you have 50% ability to move, you can make 100% of that 50%!  If you can walk and breathe you can do EmPowerFlow Yoga!
