Storytelling in Ellijay
September 20 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pmFree
GILMER ARTS, IN CONJUNCTION WITH HOMEWARD BOUND PET RESCUE, PRESENTS “TOP DAWG” STORYTELLING AND SILENT AUCTION OF THE ARTWORK OF MAX MULLER, ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH, STARTING AT 5:30 PM AT THE GEORGE LINK JR. GILMER ARTS PLAYHOUSE
Ellijay, GA –Gilmer Arts is off and running with its introduction of monthly Storytelling in Ellijay. With recent stories from Kathi Harper Hill, Lucy Harris, Oscar Poole, Melanie Knauff, an 8-year-old and many others, the third Thursday of each month is becoming a fun, free and entertaining evening at the George Link Jr. Gilmer Arts Playhouse.
In September, we are excited to be teaming up with the good folks at Homeward Bound Pet Rescue for a silent auction benefit made possible by the generous donation to Homeward Bound of beautiful artwork by Ellijay’s internationally- acclaimed, local artist Max Muller. Max Muller is a master watercolor artist, instructor, judge and experienced art director. His work has been featured in popular art publications such as “American Artist Magazine,” ”Palette Talk Magazine,” “The Best of Watercolor,” and “Who’s Who in the South and Southwest.” The storytelling theme for the evening will be Top Dawg, and the “price” of admission is a donation of American-made dog treats, or a gently-used (or new) medium or large dog sweater or jacket. (But, don’t let that stop you from coming!)
You can preview the art, and bid online, at firstname.lastname@example.org, beginning September 6th. The storytelling event on Thursday, September 20th, will begin with a Reception at 5:30 pm, at which time you can also preview and bid on the available art. We will begin the telling of delightful “dawg” stories by members of Homeward Bound and others at 6:30 pm, with the storytelling and bidding ending at 8:00 pm. Several lucky attendees will go home with a beautiful, museum-quality work of art by Max Muller, and others will go home with a smile on their face from the wonderful stories that have been shared.
