New Day & Time

Meeting Reminder Monday, June 18 at 10 am

Hi GFA Friends!
Just like a kid in a candy store, many members took advantage of the affordable prices for quality art brushes and paints that Anita Stewart, the “Brush Lady”, displayed during our social time at the May meeting.
If you missed out you may contact her at anitaarts@hotmail.com.Thank you to Julie Brown for sharing your 35 years of pottery making.  Her program not only explained the many different processes but she also displayed some of her beautiful works of art. The best part, she sold several of her pieces that night.

Several members were involved in the “Plein Air  – Art in the Mountains” held June 8,9,& 10.  The auction was again record breaking this year, nearly $16,000 of artwork was sold. Thank you to those who participated, volunteered and/or purchased art.

GFA will be scheduling a Members Only art show this summer.  So gather up your works or get started on new ones.  A prospectus will be sent out soon.
Tentative dates are:
July 26th, Thursday – deliver art works and set up gallery
July 27th, Friday – Reception
July 28th, Saturday –  Gilmer Arts membership reception
July 27th – August 31st – art on display

Remember our new meeting time is now the 3rd Monday of each month starting June 18th from 10:00 – 11:30 AM.

Debbi Friend will be conducting an amazing program on fiber arts.  Her work is extremely creative.
