Holiday Card Contest – 2019

Deadline for submissions – October 30, 2019

All members were invited to submit entries of their original art work (up to 4), created in their choice of 2 or 3 dimensional mediums.  The winning design was the cover of the Gilmer Arts 2019 Holiday Card.  Each entry was encouraged to convey the spirit of the season, and serve to inspire, cheer, warm the spirit, and/or amuse.  A $100.00 prize was awarded to the winner.

Annual Quilt & Fiber Exhibition
Dec 13, 2019 – Feb 19, 2020

Just in time for the holiday we love to decorate the gallery with the talents of our local fiber artists. So if fiber is your medium of choice, download the prospectus and submit your work for display from December 13, 2019 to February 19, 2020.  Deadline for submission November 15, 2019. 

Annual Juried Art Exhibition

Featuring works of art by more than 20 regional artists. Join other supporters of the arts at the opening reception on 2/23, 5-7pm to experience the work of these talented artists. On display through 3/28./2019.

The Annual Spring Juried Art Exhibition is open to artists 16 years old and up.  All 2 dimensional painted, drawn, and mixed media works of art and 3-dimensional works of art submissions will be accepted for consideration.  Each applicant may submit up to 2 entries under the basic entry fee ($30 Gilmer Arts Members, $35 non-members).  Additional entries are +$10 per entry.  Photography will NOT be included in this exhibition. 

 

 

Plein Air, Art in the Mountains – June 7-9, 2019

During this 3 day event, artists will be painting “en plein air” in and around the beautiful vistas of the North Georgia mountains.  Painting will begin on Friday and continue each of the next 2 days.

On Saturday, a Quick Draw Challenge will be held at one a selected location.  A cash prize will be awarded to the winner.

On the final day of the event, artists will enter some of the artwork created over the 3 days in an auction held Gilmer Arts, 207 Dalton Street in Ellijay, GA.

2nd Annual National Juried Photography Exhibition 

Scheduled for August 2020

The Annual National Juried Photography Exhibition is open to photographers 16 years of age and above. Exhibitors are invited to submit work that meets the following criteria:

Categories: Includes photographs captured anywhere in the world within the last 5 years in either film or digital formats. *

* (Film based captures can be scanned for use in post-production).

Traditional Fine Art Photography: Single-exposure compositions that limit post-production to a variety of Dodge and Burn techniques to adjust both luminance and chromatic variables. The use of popular software like Photoshop, Lightroom, Picasa3, Color Efex Pro 4 and Silver Efex Pro 2 is acceptable. However, Topaz Studio and similar products is not acceptable in this category.

 

  1. Landscape (including various vistas of river, mountain, seascapes, and cityscapes, all with or without human presence. Photographing other manmade objects are not acceptable).
  1. Wildlife (Agricultural farm settings is acceptable with or without human presence. However, animals that are caged or in a Zoo setting are not).

Digital Fine Art Photography: One or more exposure compositions, encaustic photography, composites

and the use of popular software like Photoshop, Lightroom, Picasa3, the NIK Collection of photography software, and Topaz are acceptable. There are no restrictions in this category. Let your imagination Free!
