Rich is a guitarist who loves many styles of guitar. He grew up loving the early Motown sound, but once Hendrix arrived his passion changed. He played in bands as a kid, not really knowing very much about music and theory. He ended up in groups making records and still didn't really know what he was doing. Rich very much wanted to learn so he started studying classical guitar and theory but being involved in the industry he was very much influenced by Hendrix, Clapton, Page Beck and all the great guitarists from that era. As his taste matured, he started to appreciate players like Larry Carlton, Robin Ford, Lee Ritenauer and all the cool L.A guys. Through it all he had a love of Latin nylon string guitar. So, his music today is a combination of a lot of those influences. Between 1968 and 1985 he recorded 10 albums on Major labels with different bands. Since then, he has probably made another 10 at home recordings and written music for television through music libraries. Rich is still striving for perfection, never feeling that he is getting close but enjoying the ride. Rich will be on The Playhouse stage February 19th.
